Banana Split for Breakfast
Working on adding recipes from Pinterest that are vegan, whole food, and clean I stumbled upon the banana split breakfast bar, from Clean Food Crush. Needless to say, I had to try it.
This dish helped me hit my carbohydrates for the day and was not too filling. The only thing missing was the added protein I needed to have with my FASTer Way To Fat Loss program. So, like with most recipes, I doctor them up a bit.
Ingredients
1 medium banana
1 Silk nondairy vanilla yogurt
2 scoops of vegan organic protein (protein of your choice)
1/2 cup of sliced strawberries
2 tbs chopped walnuts or nuts of your choice
4-6 blueberries
1 Tbs dark chocolate chips melted
Directions
Cut banana in half and place on a plate or bowl.
Mix in protein powder with yogurt. If it is too thick you may add almond milk. Scoop onto a plate between bananas.
Top with strawberries, blueberries, and walnuts.
Drizzle with melted chocolate.
Enjoy.
This breaking fast dish has a whopping 599 calories. It gives you a big chunk of the carbs you need when you carb cycle on those days when you lift heavy.
