Angle Food Lush Cake

I got left out of the group text for our little get together Kenny planned for after church on Labor Day weekend. He told me about it but I really did not know details and I like details. So I thought dessert easy and simple when you have to throw something together. Looks difficult but it is not. It looks decedent and full of calories, it’s not. It only has 157 calories, with 33 g carbs, 2 g of protein and 2 g fat. You can make it even more diabetic friendly or for those watching their macros in the carb department, use sugar free pudding.

I also saw on the many recipes on Pinterest different flavors of pudding used. One used lemon, I betcha this one is also delicious.

Here’s the short and sweet, oldie but goodie recipe for my Angle Food Lush Cake. Make sure you check out the bottom of the recipe for step by step pic collage of how it was made. I just learned how to do this and I need practice.

Ingredients

  • Angle Food Cake ( you can make your own, but why? They are just as good store bought and relatively the same price.)

  • Vanilla instant pudding 3.4oz

  • 1 can crushed pineapple undrained

  • 1 regular tub of cool whip

Directions

  • Slice the angle food cake into thirds. This is the most difficult part of the recipe. Don’t stress over your layers being perfect. It still is going to taste amazing.

  • Mix pudding and pineapple undrained together in a mixing bowl- mix well.

  • Blend in cool whip

  • Place bottom layer on a cake plate and icing with the cool whip pudding mixture.

  • Add on the next layer of cake and icing it.

  • Repeat with the final layer of cake.

  • Top with your favorite berries.

  • Chill for 1 hour before serving.

Cooking with Kenny in the kitchen is fun and challenging. LOL ya’ll don’t know how many times he has photo bombed with let’s just say inappropriate dress code LOL. Gotta keep it G rated.
