Oatmeal Protein and Fruit Bowl

Our carb cycle with the FASTer Way is going to be changing in March. I love how the FASTer Way mixes up your exercise and nutrition. This helps me not get bored and it keeps my body wondering what’s going to happen.

Increasing the carbs on certain days allows for your hormones to work at optimal health and gives you the energy you need to finish your strength training.

Taking it down to low-carb days allows for your bodies to tap into your fat stores and burn fat for energy, instead of the carbs we ate. Belly melt.

I am ready for regular macros days when they come into our cycle. I am ready for carbs. I have never been fond of oatmeal until I found the flavored ones years ago. We always had bland oatmeal for breakfast at school, so I grew up not caring for oatmeal.

I gave up the oatmeal packets, probably 3 years ago. Started using the steel-cut oatmeal and adding in whatever my flavor of the day wanted to be. I have made one oatmeal bowl into a banana split– so good. So needless to say, I heart oatmeal.

Here is my latest creation, very similar to the banana split bowl minus the chocolate.

Scrumptious

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oats

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk/silk

  • 2 scoops of vanilla protein

  • 1 non-dairy vanilla yogurt

  • 1/2 cup each- non-pitted cherries and blackberries

  • 2 Tbs chia seeds

  • 1 tsp pumpkin seeds

Directions

Cook oats, chia, and berries in almond milk on medium heat per oatmeal stove top instructions.
When oatmeal is ready stir in protein and yogurt.
Top with banana and pumpkin seeds.
Enjoy!
