Fresh or Frozen You Decide

The debate about eating fresh, frozen, or canned. It comes down to you deciding what you will spend your money on and how you want to prioritize your food’s nutrient value.

Also, food waste – do you throw away fresh food you did not get to eat? I know I have. The FASTer Way To Fat Loss has taught me how to start eating more vegetables and fruit. Yeah to carbs! We focus on whole food nutrition.

One of my non-scale victories in the FWTFL was actually – I did not have to throw away any produce I had in the refrigerator.

Canned does last longer, watch for salt. Frozen is always in season. Fresh tastes better at times.

Reading several articles I found one that was very interesting to me. It showed that vegetables can be healthier in the can or frozen or fresh. It depends on the veggie.

.?Tomatoes- seasonal – Tomatoes are preserved using heat, which releases lycopene-a carotenoid that may help prevent prostate and breast cancer. Canned

.?Broccoli -frozen may have more nutrients, but fresh you can’t beat. Frozen turns mushy or watery when cooked. Fresh

.?Spinach – One cup of frozen spinach has more than four times the amount of nutrients, such as fiber, folate, iron, and calcium, than a cup of fresh spinach. Frozen
